Poco a poco sentimos que se acerca la temporada de verano, el calor se va haciendo presente y con él, nuestros antojos también cambian: buscamos comidas más livianas y refrescantes, que nos ayuden a escapar un poco del intenso calor y que también nos entreguen los nutrientes que necesitamos a diario. ¡Te invitamos a conocer los alimentos de la temporada y sus beneficios!

Zapallo Italiano

Es una hortaliza muy usada en la cocina producto de su versatilidad, pero a la vez posee increíbles propiedades beneficiosas: su fibra ayuda a controlar el colesterol y perder peso, mejora la salud ocular gracias a sus fitonutrientes, sus antioxidantes permiten retrasar la vejez, su potasio reduce la presión arterial y, además, está compuesto principalmente de agua, lo que es ideal para hidratarnos en estas fechas y cuidar la apariencia de nuestra piel.

Lechuga

Es una de las verduras que más consumimos, de sabor suave y refrescante. Posee un sinfín de propiedades debido a su alto contenido de vitaminas y minerales: Mejora la circulación sanguínea y baja los niveles de azúcar en sangre. Ayuda a prevenir la osteoporosis, nos protege de enfermedades degenerativas y cuidan nuestro corazón. Y ¡ojo!,  si tienes problemas para dormir, la lechuga puede ayudar a relajarte y a tener un buen descanso.

Tomates

Con gran cantidad de agua, antioxidantes y vitaminas (A, B y C).  Son bajos en sodio, por lo que es recomendado para los hipertensos e ideal en dietas debido a sus pocas calorías y mejora de la digestión. Sin duda, un clásico en nuestras mesas.

Pepinos

El pepino es una hortaliza muy fresca y revitalizante, debido a su alto contenido de agua (97%). De hecho, pertenece a la familia de las sandías, melones y calabazas. Sus propiedades mantienen la piel sana, reducen el riesgo de cáncer, protege las funciones cerebrales, alivian la ansiedad gracias a la vitamina B y también refresca el aliento liberando el exceso de calor en el estómago.

Porotos verdes

Si lo que buscas es refrescarte y además cuidar tu cuerpo, no puedes dejar de lado los porotos verdes: Tienen un alto contenido de fibra, que ayuda a bajar de peso y a controlar los niveles de azúcar en la sangre; promueve la salud del aparato digestivo eliminando toxinas del cuerpo, limpiando el intestino y evitando la inflamación. Y además, son bajos en calorías.
